Boy Scouts Honored at Governing Board Meeting

Announcement Date: May 3, 2017

At the May 3rd Governing Board meeting, three Boy Scouts were honored for their contributions to various to NSSEO programs.

Jacob constructed three fire pits at Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center. The fire pits will be used for many years to come by student groups making meals and enjoying S’mores.
Jacob raised $870 which enabled the project to be completed on time and on budget. In addition, Jacob scheduled two work days and organized 33 hard working Boy Scouts and family members from your troop.

Jeremy collaborated with Kirk School’s Adapted Physical Education teacher, Adam Peterson, to design and build adapted equipment which enables students at Kirk School with limited upper extremity mobility and strength to participate in throwing and archery activities.

Zachary worked with the Timber Ridge administration to design a space allowing students an additional opportunity to learn about sportsmanship, strategy and cooperation. He and his team installed giant chessboards outside by the playground. This space has given the Chess Club a unique space to practice and the opportunity for other students to learn chess and checkers during recess.

We thank these fine young men for their efforts on behalf our students and staff.
