“Throughout hybrid and now with in-person learning, Timber Ridge’s building assistants, Sal Demma and Rachel Suarez have been absolutely anywhere and everywhere they are needed. It is impressive to watch how flexible they are as they quickly transition from substitute teaching in a classroom, to calmly and effectively de-escalating a student crisis to proactively supporting students in various classrooms. To say they are ‘reliable’ is a tremendous understatement; they are rocks of support on which our entire community can lean. When they cover a classroom or respond to a call, you can see the instant relief on the faces of their colleagues and, most importantly, it is simply fulfilling to see how they can support a student who is dysregulated and work to get them in a better place to learn and grow. The relationships they have built with students and staff are certainly a big part of the heartbeat of Timber Ridge and NSSEO!”
