An All-Inclusive Block Party with a Purpose
Miner is on to something special here! Just a couple of years into their new format, the end-of-the-year Block Party celebration is a gigantic hit. Miner School's hallways were packed on a Saturday with students, families, and friends, all gathered on a gorgeous spring day to enjoy the festivities. Inside, the event was packed with activities, games, and vendors, including a reptile show, a tie-dye station, face painting, carnival games, snacks, jewelry vendors, Forever Bracelet fittings, beaded bracelet kits for kids, and a hallway filled with raffle prizes. Outside, guests enjoyed food trucks, a mobile book bus, and visits from the local police and fire departments, where kids had the chance to get up close to their favorite cars and trucks.
A huge thank you to the Miner School PTO and everyone involved in organizing this wonderful event. The planning and execution continue to improve each year, and it truly showed. One especially meaningful addition was the accessible van demonstration in the parking lot, which gave families the opportunity to tour a vehicle designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. With so many engaging and valuable experiences packed into the event, we may need to consider extending it by another hour next year.
