Bullying

It is usually best to talk directly with an administrator, counselor, psychologist, or social worker. However, since students and parents are not always comfortable doing so, this is another tool that can be used to report bullying or other safety concerns.

This telephone number is designated for individuals to report situations involving intimidation, harassment, threats, abuse, and other forms of bullying. It is also to be used to report any other safety concern.

Student Data Privacy

At NSSEO Student Data Privacy is given utmost importance and we adhere to state and federal laws, including the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA) and Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Data Breach

NSSEO will post details about data breaches involving 10% or more of the District’s students on this page, including the number of students whose covered information was involved in the breach, date of breach (or estimate), and operator name.

RTO Plan

As an organization, NSSEO is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students while also effectively supporting students within our programs who may present an imminent danger of serious physical harm to the student or others.  To accomplish these goals, we are committed to:

1. using trauma-informed and equitable practices for all students,

2. embedding use of proactive, therapeutic SEL and behavioral supports for students across all environments to reduce the instances in which RTO is needed to ensure the safety of a student or others, and

3. utilizing RTO practices as a last resort, only after less restrictive and intrusive measures have been tried and proven ineffective in stopping the imminent danger of physical harm.

The specific action steps outlined in the attached RTO Reduction Plan articulate the strategies we will use to accomplish these simultaneous goals.

Fraud, Waste and Abuse

The Fraud Hotline accepts tips and complaints about potential fraud, waste or abuse. Anyone suspecting fraud, waste or abuse is encouraged to report it. Your information will be reviewed by a professional staff member. If you wish to enter your complaint anonymously, please take care to withhold any personally identifiable information from your complaint narrative and from any attachments.
