Description

Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) is a highly recognized special education district that provides a wide range of specialized supports and services to students and families residing within our eight member districts. We are located at 799 West Kensington Road in Mount Prospect Illinois, which is approximately 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. NSSEO currently employs 400 full and part time employees, including more than 130 certified/licensed staff members. FOIA Requests

A request for inspection and/or copies of public record must be made in writing to NSSEO’s FOIA Officer and maybe submitted by personal delivery, mail, telefax, or email. Individuals making a request are not required to state a reason for the request other than to identify when the request is for a commercial purpose or when requesting a fee waiver. The officer will respond to all requests for information or public records in accordance to the Illinois Freedom of Information ACT and NSSEO Board Policy 2:250. The Freedom of Information Officer shall approve all requests for public records unless: 

  1. Requested material does not exist;
  2. Requested material is exempt from inspection and copying by the Freedom of Information Act; or
  3. Complying with the request would be unduly burdensome.

An approved request for inspection and copying of a public record is permitted at NSSEO’s administrative office during the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, on days the District office is open to the public. Copies of the first 50 pages (black and white, letter/legal size) of requested information is free; any additional pages cost 5 cent per page. If electronic copies are requested, the actual cost of the recording medium may be charged.
